Paamiut, Greenland

In the background on the left is the Zuiderdam.  Farther out to see and on the right are icebergs, and in the foreground is one of the tenders.

This morning we took a 2 mile walking tour through this small town.  It was hard to learn much except when we were in the immediate vicinity of the guide, who was extremely soft spoken.  None of the groceries or shops were labeled as such, because in a town of 1200, everyone knows where everything is. 😂. Unless you don’t.

It is a colorful town; they all love bright colors.

Notice in front of the boat an old sod-covered house.

There is one church in the center of town. I didn’t catch her name, but she is charming.

Paul says he finally found a pew more uncomfortable than Holy Ghost Lutheran’s.

I guess I should not be surprised to find a pipe organ in a Danish territory.

The weather here is very fair. We dressed in layers, as we were advised, but we quickly shed them. It was about 45-50 degrees.  We also heard that the mosquitoes were bad so we brought our head nets.  Those who didn’t do so were envious.

I was impressed with the lovely flowers everywhere. “Everything is bigger in Texas” except the dandelions!  They are HUGE here!
